Spring is in the air ...

Yesterday it was rainy and cool (kinda late in the year for rain here) but today the sky is clear and it looks like it will be a nice spring day.

Speaking of Spring, we ended up with three bird’s nest on our back porch. I think the first one yielded three little birds. The second one, I’m not so sure about. While it appeared mama spent time in the nest, I don’t know if there were no eggs or something got to them.

A third set of birds had built a nest and I had to chase away a big blue bird that appeared to be trying to get at the nest. There were no eggs yet in that one but I wonder if the attacker maybe got to the eggs in the second nest because a day or so later, the second nest was on the ground and empty.

The third nest had three, maybe four, baby birds. They would set up quick a racket when mama came to feed them. So far, it’s quiet today and I haven’t checked to see if, maybe, the babies have flown away. I don’t have any idea how long it takes for them to be big enough to fly.
